NEW ORLEANS -- The city of New Orleans lateTuesday began taking down a monument to Beauregard - the third of four Confederate-eramonuments slated for removal.

我校四六级考试通过率超全省平均水平

记者从教务处获悉，2008年12月份的全国大学英语四六级考试中，我校学生四级考试一次性过级率为（外国语学院除外），大大超过全省普通高校30%的平均值。

据了解，我校参加去年12月四六级考试的人数分别为5349人和1582人。其中，经管学院四级过级率高达81%，文学院为。全校六级一次性通过率为，数经学院六级过级率达。多项数值较往年都在继续提升。

教务处王志敏处长介绍说，英语作为一门基础学科，不仅在培养学生专业水平上发挥着重要作用，而且在考研、就业方面占一席之地。他表示，“机考”的来临会让考试更加标准、规范，我校正在逐步完善相关硬件设施，迎接机考时代到来。

西部志愿者接受省教研室培训 专家表示“学生学不会，老师有责任” 2008-12-23 12月22日，校团委书记徐晓带领我校西部支教志愿者澎洪艳、张春燕，来到设在我校的湖北省教学研究室，接受相关专家的培训。

省教研室扈华唯老师是省内初高中教育的专家，他认为，作为教师，要注意学生需求，激发学生学习兴趣。要培养学生的终身学习技能，树立社会责任感以及正确的价值观念和审美情趣。他表示“学生学不会，不要只从学生本身找问题，老师也有重要责任。”

“师生之间，老师是主导，在学习上必须严格要求。学习兴趣靠责任，要把这种责任落实在学生的学习上。”扈华唯要求新老师每天注意总结，注重反思并积极改进授课方法。

在英语方面，扈华唯老师从能力培养，学生探索、体验、讨论过程，学生综合运用能力，学生学习经验，认识水平，学习兴趣等角度阐释了作为一名新老师应该注意的问题。

“‘形成性评价’对教学的发展过程很重要，课程标准（课程大纲）主要是对培养学生理念，学科间的综合，知识体系转化等方面进行评价。”扈华唯从知识和技能，过程与方法，情感态度与价值观的转变三个维度谈及了教学安排，他说：“当一名老师要把语言内化，使之成为学生自己的东西，与生活相结合，注重情感培养，做到能力与成绩并重。”

扈华唯介绍了如何写教案等方面的经验。他说，作为新老师，布置作业是让学生巩固当天所学内容，借鉴其他老师的教学计划很有指导意义。对于学生的错误，从肯定的角度提出问题，不要打击学生的学习积极性，做到心与心的交流。
